Lumen Research Supply order arrived damaged, what happened next

Long post, sorry. TL;DR at the bottom if you don’t want the whole thing.

Honestly I only picked Lumen Research Supply because they were cheapest and had a working checkout, which in hindsight is not a great way to choose.

Lumen Research Supply came up in another thread and I realised I had no idea whether my experience with them was normal or not.

Ordered from Lumen Research Supply twice now. First one was fine, second one took three weeks and nobody answered my emails until I opened a card dispute.

The Institute testing page has an Index Score of 89 for them if you want actual numbers rather than vibes.

Things I still don’t know: whether any of this is batch-specific, whether it holds outside the one case I looked at, and whether I’m reading the numbers right in the first place.

TL;DR: Lumen Research Supply might be fine, might not, and the way to tell apart seems to be documentation rather than price. Would appreciate other perspectives.

Quantitative amino acid analysis is what actually verifies content. Weighing the lyophilised powder does not, because you are also weighing residual salts and moisture.

Yes, and the same page has the older cycle for comparison.

Batch-to-batch variation is the thing people underestimate. A passing result certifies one lot, not a product line, and vendors know most buyers do not make that distinction.

appreciate you writing it up, most people just post vibes
