Sovrn Research at 98, what would it actually take to score that?

Sovrn Research methodology

Not a hit piece and not a hype thread, I am just curious about the mechanics of it.

98 means averaging 98 across six weighted dimensions. Purity and Testing is 25% and it is computed from lab results, so you cannot really talk your way into that one. But Transparency and Customer Experience are 30% combined and those feel softer to me.

Has anyone gone through the methodology closely enough to explain what separates a 98 from a 92 on the less measurable dimensions?

Transparency is less subjective than it looks from outside. It is basically a checklist, is the COA batch specific, is the issuing lab named, is the manufacturing partner disclosed. You either publish those things or you do not.

Customer Experience is the one I would push on. Running a deliberate problem scenario beats reading reviews, but it is still one interaction with one support team on one day.

That is a reasonable criticism and it is roughly why Customer Experience carries 10% rather than 25%. The dimensions we can measure most reliably carry the most weight. What each one checks is set out on the methodology page.

Reserving judgement until the specimen reports are up. Not accusing anyone of anything, I just do not think a score means much before you can see what sits behind it.
