Where do you draw your personal risk line?

Fair warning, this is long. Summary at the end.

This is the sort of thing that never gets written down anywhere so I figured I’d ask.

Curious how other people think about this, because I keep going back and forth.

I’ve changed my mind on this twice in the last year so take my current position lightly.

The part I keep getting stuck on is that everyone’s confident and nobody agrees, which usually means the evidence is thinner than the discussion.

TL;DR: not sure what to believe about Where do you draw your personal risk line, the sources people cite don’t say what they’re claimed to say, and I’d like to hear from anyone who’s actually looked at this properly.

Fair warning, the answer you get here will be better than the answer you get in the bigger subs, but it will still be people on the internet.

This is the correct take.

Watched three vendors rebrand under new names after bad results. Check domain registration dates.

If you want to check this yourself, ask the vendor which laboratory issued the certificate, then email that laboratory with the report number. Most will confirm or deny. The ones that go quiet tell you something.
