Cloudy Orforglipron solution after reconstitution, normal or not?

This has come up like three times in the last month so it probably deserves its own thread.

Half of what’s written about Orforglipron online is copied from the same three forum posts from 2019. I can’t find an original source for most of it.

So I’ve been reading about Orforglipron for a few weeks now and the more I read the less confident I am that anyone actually knows what they’re talking about.

For what it’s worth the Institute has 6 published tests on Orforglipron, which is where I started.

Will update this post if I learn anything useful.

Short answer: check that the lot number on the certificate matches the lot printed on your vial. If it does not, the document is about different material.

Fair warning, the answer you get here will be better than the answer you get in the bigger subs, but it will still be people on the internet.

Reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection at 214nm is the standard here because the peptide bond absorbs there. If a vendor reports purity without stating the method or wavelength, the number is not comparable to anything.

The figure everyone quotes traces back to a single 2019 paper with n=8. It gets cited as though it were established and it is really not.
