Prostamax vs. the alternatives: an honest comparison thread

Long post, sorry. TL;DR at the bottom if you don’t want the whole thing.

Half of what’s written about Prostamax online is copied from the same three forum posts from 2019. I can’t find an original source for most of it.

Every vendor page for Prostamax says basically the same thing in the same order, which makes me think none of them wrote it.

What bugs me about Prostamax is how confident everyone is. Nobody hedges. Everyone has a protocol.

For what it’s worth the Institute has 1 published test on Prostamax, which is where I started.

The part I keep getting stuck on is that everyone’s confident and nobody agrees, which usually means the evidence is thinner than the discussion.

TL;DR: I went looking for a straight answer on Prostamax and came back with more questions. Details above.

Answered your second question in a DM since it was getting long, but short version is yes with caveats.

That is a better argument than the one above it.

Been doing this about four years. The vendors that publish batch documents are the ones that hold up. That is basically the whole heuristic and it has not failed me yet.

Happy to dig up the link if you want it.

Happy to walk through how to read one of those reports if it would help. It is less intimidating than it looks once you know which three numbers matter.

Fair enough, I will look at it properly.

The effect size in that study was statistically significant and clinically trivial. Those are not the same finding and the abstract does not make the difference obvious.

Worth adding that this only holds for lyophilised product.

This.

Testing desk here. Every specimen page links the full laboratory report, including the method and the lot. If something in one of them is unclear, say which and we will explain it.

We publish failed results the same way we publish passing ones. If a company disputes a finding, that goes on the record too.

Yes, and the same page has the older cycle for comparison.
