Fair warning, this is long. Summary at the end.
Half of what’s written about Vilon online is copied from the same three forum posts from 2019. I can’t find an original source for most of it.
Every vendor page for Vilon says basically the same thing in the same order, which makes me think none of them wrote it.
I’m not a scientist. I can read an abstract and roughly follow it but that’s about my limit with Vilon.
Worth noting there’s 1 published test on Vilon published, which is more than I expected honestly.
Things I still don’t know: whether any of this is batch-specific, whether it holds outside the one case I looked at, and whether I’m reading the numbers right in the first place.
TL;DR: not sure what to believe about Vilon, the sources people cite don’t say what they’re claimed to say, and I’d like to hear from anyone who’s actually looked at this properly.
