Capsule products are everywhere now. Is there any direct evidence the peptide survives the GI tract, or is the gastric-stability claim doing all the work?

The honest answer: the compound was literally derived from a gastric protein and shows activity in oral rodent GI models. Systemic oral bioavailability in humans is unmeasured. Anyone quoting a percentage is inventing it.
Note the rodent oral studies used doses that scale to far more than typical capsule products contain. The stability claim and the dose reality are different problems.
